Reignite: A Photo Competition

As we are flooded by negativity the news brings each day and the waiting game continues, positivity seems scarce these days in the only place we can meet and gather as a group: online. We can’t turn things around but we can certainly grasp at whatever hope we can find.

As our way of contributing to the hope that this nation needs right now, we are launching a photo contest you can join in from the safety of your homes.

You won’t need to go out to take the photos you’ll be entering. As a matter of fact, we advise against it as we strongly support the government’s efforts in fighting this unseen enemy. We only need you to look back to your most cherished memories and grab a photo that encompasses the hope you cling to ’til this is all over. What are the passions you want to pursue again? What are the places you long to see again? What are the things you have taken for granted but now miss doing? Tell us about it and get a chance to win a ₱10,000 shopping spree at Urban Gadgets!

Mechanics

Who Can Join

  • This contest is open to anyone who is of legal age, of any nationality, and is currently residing in the Philippines.
  • Contestants are NOT REQUIRED to purchase anything from Urban Gadgets PH before joining the competition.

How to Join

Contestant must be a follower of Urban Gadgets PH on Facebook and Instagram before joining.

 

Step 1 – A contestant can join the competition by submitting at least one photo. A maximum of five photo entries are allowed per contestant.

  • Post your photo/s on your Facebook or Instagram account and tag at least three of your friends.
  • Photo entry should be a new post in your Facebook or Instagram account.
  • Photo/s must be taken with either a mobile phone, a drone or an action camera.
  • Caption format: “Message, camera used, location, date”
  • Use hashtags: #UrbanGadgetsReignite #HopeAmidstCrisis

On Facebook

  • Your photo/s privacy settings must be set to PUBLIC.
  • Mention: URBAN Gadgets

On Instagram

  • Your account’s privacy settings must be set to PUBLIC.
  • Mention @urbangadgets_ph

Only those entries with the complete required hashtags, brand mention, and captions will be considered as qualified.

Image Specifications

  • Photo/s must be taken with either a mobile phone, a drone or an action camera.
  • Photo/s can be in either landscape or portrait mode.
  • Photos can be taken before April 1, 2020 but the post should be new and specifically made to join the contest.
  • Minimal post-processing is allowed to help convey the proper message.
  • Only original materials are accepted. Please do not use photos taken by someone else.
  • Your raw photo file must be ready and available for verification purposes upon qualifying to the 12 semi finalists

Schedule and Timelines

Submission of Entries April 1 to 30, 2020
Announcement of 12 Semi Finalists May 2, 2020
Public Voting Period on FB and IG May 2 – 8, 2020
Announcement of Winners May 10, 2020

How to Claim Prizes

  • Urban Gadgets PH will contact the winners within 3 business days from the date when winners have been announced.
  • Winners from Metro Manila can get their prize in Urban Gadgets PH store that is closest to their location. Winners outside Metro Manila will receive online gift vouchers that they can use to shop online.
  • Winners must present a valid ID and meta data of the image file will be required from the 12 finalists for verification purposes.
  • Prizes can be claimed until July 31, 2020. Unclaimed prizes will be forfeited in favor of Urban Gadgets PH.

Contest Limitations

Employees of Urban Gadgets PH including their relatives up to second degree of consanguinity are not eligible to join the competition.

Urban Gadgets suppliers and brand influencers are not allowed to join.

Media Release Consent

All entries that will be submitted in this competition gives Urban Gadget PH permission to repost the photos in its website and social media accounts while crediting the photographer.
